Welcome to The Beaumaris Sharks Basketball Club.
The Sharks club was established in 1993 by Di McNicholas. By 1997 it became incorporated and was officially known as Beaumaris Basketball Club Inc. and was already gaining popularity, fielding 38 teams.
After Di McNicholas, David Brophy took over the reigns. Other Presidents following on from David have been Paul Allaway, Chris Goon, Len McInerney, Brett Pearce, Judy O’Brien and Julie Kerdel. The current President is Malcolm Pulling.
In the current winter 2016 season we have 80 teams competing in the Southern Basketball Association (SBA) competition held at the King Club in Tulip Street, Sandringham along with other local school venues.
The Beaumaris Sharks Basketball Club is a community orientated, not for profit junior sporting club whose mission is to foster the enjoyment of basketball for as many children as possible from Beaumaris and its surrounding areas.
Consistent with this objective the selection of players for a team takes into account many facets, but primarily the aim is to place players into teams that are appropriate to their ability and in teams which will make playing basketball an enjoyable experience.
The Sharks also seek to form teams that will be competitive in respect to the grade levels determined by SBA.
